Stitchy Fingers

First of all I'm glad with my new followers! It proves that I've got some things to say and show that interest people. LOL!!! I've been working on a couple of projects in the meantime. First of all I've finished knitting the back part of my eldest DD's dress (see previous message). I've also started and finished my monthly April ornament. It's a little bit smaller than the other ornaments that I've shown the last months because my other stitching was more time consuming. So here it is ... a "marine" ornament (I've combined two hearts - there are 9 in total - because I liked some parts of the design better than others). I'll be giving this away as a present. Hi all, As you've maybe imagined I was on Easter holiday at the Belgian coast with very limited computer access. But fear not, behind the screens I kept working on a couple of pieces! On a small side note ... I had way too many things in my projects travel bag that I didn't even touch - but better too much than too little! :-) First of all "Sleepy Hollow". It will be bigger than I imagined it would be. Maybe I should've taken a higher count than the 32-ct I'm working on (the count mentionned with the pattern). I had to put it on the floor to have a convenient "shot" ;-)   And then I also started knitting on a dress for my eldest daughter (7 years) which will be followed by another dress for my youngest one (almost 5) meaning that my fingers will suffer :-). I had to google certain things because I'm a beginner and some of the explanation given was more for the intermediate knitter in my opinion (luckaly not much though).   P...

It's "Sleepy Hollow" from Cricket Collection. My only concern is that I will be able to finish it off in the panel form (I've never done lacing before). I'm waiting for some special threads to stitch the roof of the Van Tassel farm and the tree next to it so I started on the middle panel "The Hunt" The next thing I would like to stitch would be "Ladie's Night" also from the Cricket Collection or "Bewitching Trio" from The Needle's Notion. Hello all, I promised you recently to give you some more details about my plans for the printer trays I have. I still need to do their cleaning and begin with the stitching but at least I've found some perfect designs to use for 1 tray (I have 2 "big ones" and 2 small ones). I think I can fill at least one third or even half of it. So which ones did I chose? Well, I adore the charts from Isabelle Vautier and I've opted for her "Le Grand Marquoir des Arbres de Vie" which includes the entire alphabet and 28 other "trees" that I can use - of course in my own colour scheme :-). Maybe I'll incorporate some of her other charts from her "Grand Marquoir" as well ... It was published as a freebie and you can still find all six parts here . The rest of the designs is still to be determined but I think I'll use a mix of lovelies from Isabelle Vautier and Renato Parolin (books and others) which I'll be stitching over on...

Hi all, It doesn't always has to be embroidery related things :-). I discovered via an article in one of our newspapers a Harry Potter Hogwarth's Castle entirely made of LEGO ... A 38-year old school teacher named Alice Finch worked for almost a year on this project!   Welcome to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This version of Hogwarts is made of about 400,000 bricks and took 12 months to build. It is designed to be architecturally accurate and completely playable. It breaks into sections that pack into 40 large flat boxes or shelves. All pictures to be found on Flickr or on YouTube               Wow! I can only imagine the time, effort and money that went into this! Hi all, Each year I'm looking forward to the first big craft fair of the year in Belgium = Creativa. This year I decided to do things slightly different and go to the "Nocturne edition" - which is on Friday evening - instead of Saturday and I wasn't disappointed ... no crowd, all the "shops" were easily accessible and lots of time to browse and look for the things I needed :-). The only negative thing I can think of when comparing with last year was that there weren't many new shops to discover and that it was in another hall than usual (which gives it another feeling in my opinion). Something I also discovered a couple of days before was the theme of the quilt exhibition to be held = a number of Dear Jane quilts (mostly from Belgium and a couple of the Netherlands and the USA) was on exhibition! As I'm planning on making one (not in a near future) this caught my interest as well! Here's an impression: Entrance and "Les Jardin...
