Stitchy Fingers

In my previous post I've talked about a couple of books I've brought back from my holiday at the coast. Today I want to show you the second-hand quilting book from the 70's (or was it 80's?). Here's more information about it. Before everything was printed in low-cost European countries like Spain (I presume) ... nowadays a lot of printing related things are sent to China! I simply adore this book! Why? Well because of: - the look and feel of the 70's/80's - hair, make-up, costumes and colour choices for the quilts - the nostalgic feeling it gives! My mom was still young and I a small child - a lot of the instructions are in drawing form - now everything is step by step photography - ... Hi all, As promised, I would show you some progress pictures of the pieces I'm currently working on. The first one is an old friend :-) ... Serengeti mandala. I didn't start on part six yet (the Zebra panel), but I really should be going because the month is already half way ;-) And here's my new best friend called "Weihnachten steht vor der Tür" (Christmas is around the corner) by UB Designs. Why do I love this piece? Well, it doesn't have too many colours (30-something) - most of the time I'm like "the more the better" :-), it has lots of mini pieces in it so that you don't lose your interest soon and ...you see progress quite quickly. It's the first piece I'm stitching from this designer, but it won't be the last :-). She has sooo many beautifull things! Check out her site here  (choose "Stickanleitungen on the left hand side)! Hi all, I kinda fell of the face of the earth the last two weeks since I was at the Belgian coast collecting seashells and making paper flowers with the kids :-). The weather was typical for a Belgian summer which included sun and rain the same day and this for almost two weeks. Nevertheless, we had a great time because we had quite some quality time together! Stitching wise I finished the lion panel on the Serengeti mandala (part five) and I started a new Christmas piece which is quite large called "Weihnachten steht for der Tür" (Christmas is just around the corner) from UB Designs (a German designer). This is the first piece I'll be stitching from this lady, but I already ordered a second one :-) This one will be big - I've used a 12 count instead of the required 8 threads/cm.
