Ornament SAL May and some knitting

Image
Like each month I'm faithfully posting my ornament to participate in the Stitching Lotus Ornament SAL. So here she is ... my first finished witch (the one with the green hair) ... together with her two sisters - at least the toes part of the third one ;-)   The middle one needs a couple of white stitches in her shawl  and some backstitching and then she'll be finished as well!   I hope to show them all finished into dolls for the next SAL in June (certainly before the long school holiday July/August arrives because I won't have time then being entirely "entertained" by my children :-). On the knitting front me eldest DD's dress is almost finished ... have a look. See you soon!

Some knitting ... maybe a large throw?

Gosh ... another week has passed without posting! I guess I don't feel inspired a lot for the moment due to that grey, dull and rainy weather that keeps on going. It's way too cold and rainy for the time of the year and it feels like Autumn instead of Spring!!! As you'll maybe know by now, I'm also venturing into the knitting world with some easy models that I'm trying to realise. First one was a small bag with cable, second two lovely dresses for my girls (not yet finished due to my fingers that where in a bad shape after knitting for a week) and ... I've recently seen an idea that inspired me. Here it is ... what do you think? Jolanda's blanket made entirely of embroidery wool found in a thrift store (featured on the blog  from Wieke van Keulen) In my stash ... a box with around 1000 skeins in a rainbow of colours   I've made a first tryout block like the ones in Jolanda's blanket but I tend to knit a little bit "tense&q

I let the pictures speak for themselves.       I've also made a good progress on the second witch (they're really fun to stitch) ... I can't wait to finish them into "standing" dolls:-)

Trio of witches

For the moment I'm mainly attracted to  Halloween pieces - don't ask me why - so I'm stitching on two (to me) beautifull pieces that will represent a challenge to finish them off. The first one being "Sleepy Hollow" from the Cricket Collection that didn't see a lot of progress lately because I'm waiting for new skeins of Weeks Dye Works and ... I didn't resist the temptation of starting on a chart I have only acquired recently = Bewitching Trio by the Needle's Notion. Wednesday, 1st of May (Bank Holiday) Friday, 3rd of May   In the meanwhile I've completed the purple middle part, added the orange to the skirts' edge and finished the left piece of her shawl. Here's a complete picture (chart/leaflet picture). When stitching you also have some time to let your mind wander off ... well, I started wondering why witches are always pictured with a broom and a black cat. Well I can tell you that the lecture on google was qu
