New HAED

Image
Yes, I know ... do I really need another big and complicated design? I would say YES because I thought this would be perfect for my parents (although they don't have to expect it soon :-) I bought the chart yesterday evening ... and I cursed afterwards because HAED was giving a special promotion for the 29th of March = 50% off each and every chart (and I bought it a couple of hours before at the full price)! Oh well ... So here's the beauty! El Vaquero by Laurie Prindle Heaven and Earth Designs The only thing I need to do now is search for a piece of linnen that is big enough (I prefer to stitch on 32 or 36 count with 2 over 2 - not on the 25 count as is recommended). Hope you like it (and my parents as well - they don't know, but I'm going to ask them tomorrow evening without revealing it will be for them)!?

Small new start

Image
I got a little bit tired just stitching on large pieces. As I'm waiting for the Serengeti mandala to start on March 1st, I decided to stitch on a small "cushion". Remember this booklet ... Well I started on the pincushion yesterday (Sunday). Not bad for just a couple of hours of stitching I think. I'll keep you posted!

Stitching dreams

Image
By now you know that I have a lot of projects going, that I am a great beginner but not a great finisher! :-) Here are a couple of projects by Chatelaine designs of which I dream of stitching them "one day" ;-) From left to right: Spring Morning, Summer Afternoon, Autumn Dusk and Winter's Eve The Fairies series: Spring, Autumn and Winter (Summer has to be released yet)   The Knotgarden Series : Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter and the original one The Watergarden series : Spring, Autumn and Winter (Summer has to be released yet) and the original one And then a couple of "exotic" designs: Taj Mahal Mandala Garden and Persian Iris Garden Oriental Harem Garden and   Konstantinople Garden Peacock Garden (former Mystery XIII) and Arabian Walled Garden  Japanese Garden and Chinese Garden Mandala  I admit ... I just wanted to see them all together and this post would be the ideal opportunity to

Finished third page and starting another piece

Image
On Tuesday evening I had the time to stitch a couple of hours and I succeeded in finishing the third page of HAED Revelations. I'm planning to go down instead of to the right and hope to start page 8 this evening (I've already stitched pages 1, 2 and 7 ... see previous post why). As on the Serengeti mandala front ... I've already printed the materials list and keys, cut my piece of Lambswool linnen which is quite big at a respectable 90cm x 90cm (including 12cm of borders), sorted my DMC threads and ordered the rest of the kit with the  European Cross Stitch Company :-). Now it's only Martina that has to release the first part! Edited to add pictures...

IHSW February

Image
Hi girls! I hope you had a great IHSW! Last time I didn't have much time for IHSW-ing (actually each weekend since the beginning of the year) but this Sunday I managed to stitch a couple of hours! The children let me do my thing and we sat together almost the whole day ... they played and watched TV and I sat and stitched! Great deal isn't it? ;-) I continued to stitch on my HAED Revelation in the hope that page two would be completed but I didn't succeed ... although I'm really close! Those blank spaces are almost filled and I think I need to stitch another 80 stitches or so :-) Here's a picture of where I stopped yesterday evening: Last week I also received the first ornament for this year by Little House Needleworks and a small book that I've been waiting anxiously for. It's the "Biscornus et Picques Aiguilles" by Mango Pratique. It's really successfull because I've heard that it's in reprint (due to the large demand).

A LHN themed SAL

Image
Okay ... This SAL is amost over (last part will be in April 2012) but I stumbled upon it by chance on visiting Carin's site . Carin has lots of beautifull stitchy things going, but I most adore her Linda Meyers piece(s) ;-) Carin's sampler from Linda Meyers (n°6) and how it should look once finished For those interested in the SAL, just have a look at Sara's website . She designed a gorgeous sampler in LHN style and offers the possibility of stitching it in cross stitch or partially quilted if you like. Here's a picture: I'm soooo tempted (as with other projects as well). Sara has a lot of other stitched goodies on her website. LOOK! I adore her style and her blog! Go have a look (it is in Italian but google translate should be available :-)

Happy Valentine!

Image
I suppose Valentine is celebrated throughout the world. Whatever you're offering (posh dinner or at home meal, chocolate, flowers, perfume, ...), the most important thing is to enjoy your day with loved ones, family and friends :-)! That's why I would like to say to everyone

And here she is!

Image
Isn't she a beauty? And still fully operational! For the time being I'm only going to use her for decoration. But who knows, maybe also for stitching in the future. :-) I let the pictures speak for themself...
