I'm in love ...

Image
Yesterday on browsing  this  site I stumbled upon a beautifull design stitched by one of her readers ... dare I say that it was love on first sight?! It's by Amy Mitten Designs... and quite pricey (240 USD - however, this includes the online class and all the materials) but I can't resist this temptation! I'm sure I'll be buying it before the ending of this year! I would go for the Vierlande Winder's Keeper (drawstring bag), but she has two similar designs with other motifs: Vierlande Winders' Keeper Quaker Winders' Keeper Friesland Winders' Keeper What's your favourite? The weekend is near ... Enjoy!

IHSW June 2012

Hi ladies, I hope you all had a stitchy weekend? As for me ... no stitching on Saturday but I caught up on Sunday when I managed to entirely finish the Hippo panel! YAY! I can tell you that backstiting all those waterlilly leaves took like forever ! ;-) Now I'll be tackling the other things that still need a finishing on the Serengeti mandala : The inner border still needs it's golden backstitching. I'm halfway through that and think I'll rip it out again = without all that gold, the turquoise inner triangles look soo much more lively and lovely - what do you think? And on the first panel my giraffe still has to find his/her spots and the grasses in the front part of the border. I thought I was going to wait with the beading, but it's possible that I'll start with that as well. When all of this is finished, I'll tackle "Juin" or "Juillet" (see previous post). What are you working on? Feeling like starting somethin

Still alive and stitching

I'm still alive and kicking/stitching on part 4 of the Serengeti Mandala. The only thing I need to do now is fill in the hippo and do all that tedious backstitching of the waterlillies. I don't think I'll be able to download the parts due on July 1st and August 1st because of the holiday season approaching (and I won't be always around or on my computer). I'm not planning on abandoning Serengeti, but once part 4 is finished, I think I'll be starting on a series that I have since 4 or 5 years. First brought out via the French magazine "Marie Claire Idées". I've always wanted to stitch them, have the complete year in my drawers, but never seemed to come around to actually stitch them. It's not only cross stitch but also half crosses/needlepoint (?) over one ... Really looking forward to doing this! Have a nice day! Ann

Hanging out - having fun?

Image
When browsing Pinterest a little bit today, I found this ... the Blandito Seems like or A) supercomfortable or B) something of which you can get an immense backpain ... I'm not sure what it would be ;-) I'm gonna "hang out" on my regular couch this evening ;-)

Icecream and quilting ...

Image
Yesterday on looking at a movie I saw the new publicity campaign for the Magnum Infinity icecream. Really funny! You see this woman taking a bite after which the Magnum becomes hole again. She calls her friends to come and see ... and afterwards when biting again in it, it stays like that when a logo appears ..."Infinite for a certain time" :-). Okay, the icecream looks good to me (I don't fancy chocolate icecream but rather the "normal" vanilla flavour). Believe me or not, it was something else that caught my attention ... take a look at the couch ... going a little bit closer ... Do you see it now :-)? Look at that gorgeous pillow! I have to make it! Now I only need to learn to applique/needle turn! Imagine what you can do with a charm pack in batik! Mmmmm .... Have a nice and sunny day!

Russia inspired stitching

Whilst creating my message on the 166th birthday of Carl Fabergé I had to think of the (Fabergé) egg designs by Terrence Nolan ... I have two charts that are calling my name = Milennium and St. Petersburg (especially the last one). I know at least two people in the blogging community that have finished the "The Entchantment of Winter" egg, namely Dani and Hans  ... they're sooo gorgeous (I wanted to post a piccie of the chart photo but didn't find one online because it's OOP - hope Dani and Hans won't mind me posting their finished pieces) ! Dani "Tkdchick"                                                                              Hans This also makes me wanna start on St. Petersburg mandala by Chatelaine ... but with the Serengeti going on for the moment (which has the same size) there's no chance I'll be starting it in 2012 :-( B.t.w. Martina released the fourth part of the Serengeti mandala and it's the right panel in
