And I have more Christmas decorations then last year when I only had two "meager" embroidered trees to show you - my very first post on my then new blog :-). So as promised an update on my finished Prairie Schooler santa ornaments.   I'm still in love with my Christmas tree and started adding new branches (which takes time do to because of all the different side-branches). New ornaments will also be added ...     I still owe you some book reviews and pictures of the content!   I'm also thinking of a small give-away. More news will follow ... so stay tuned ;-)  

Hi all, This Saturday I went to a books fair held twice a year close to us. It's in a big hall filled with tables and tables and tables :-) full of books, ready to cater each and every need ... and for really interesting prices if you look around a little bit! As you can imagine I alway go for two kinds of books: everything handcrafting ... and cook books. I wasn't disappointed ... here's my "autumn harvest" - see below :-) Now the first book "Rainbow of Stitches" has a particular story to it ... Two weeks ago I saw a really cute Christmas ornament on Dani's site .   Beatrice's ornament held by Anne who received it (guess everyone wanted the pattern) I asked Dani if she knew from which designer, blog, ... it was but she could only tell it was from a Dutch magazine or book. Googled it and dug through a couple of my (many) magazines but without any result.    So fast forward to Saturday ... bought a couple of books that seemed r...

Hi all, As promised here are some photos of the Libelle Winterfair I've visited last week Thursday. This one was typical for women = cooking, baking, clothing, ... and most important all things crochet and embroidery. Have a look ...   Bought one of the houses   Some lovely inspiration Also tried some Décopatch Ordered chart on E-bay :-)  And of course, after being inspired I had to take some things home and immediately start with it :-). My treasures I started crocheting a scarf with it but didn't take pictures of that one yet. Alhough the wool is soft and "flexible" I think that it will be more "rigid and prickly" ;-) The green linnen will be for future stitching of Christmas trees by The Prairie Schooler (leaflet I and II) And because the were screaming to me, I've finished my first ornament completely. Mind you, everything was new to me ... putting together the ornament (with sewing machine), making cording...

My oh my! It has been a week since I've last posted a thing. I can tell you that I've been quite busy in the meantime! Last weekend I've finished my six Santa ornaments from the Prairie Schooler. I've put some backing to them, sewed them together with my sewing machine, stuffed them and closed the "holes" ;-). The only thing I'm not sure of is how I'm going to finally finish them by using some own made cording or something else. I'll have the opportunity to scout around a little bit tomorrow because I'm going to the " Libelle Winterfair " (sorry but the site is only in Dutch but you get the idea) and I know that there will be some crafty boots as well :-). Something else I'm going to try is Décopatch. I want to make a complete Christmas wreath in it ... something like this but in Christmas outfit ... I'm jumping up and down from excitement! You see ... via Melissa's site I learned that Country Cottage Needleworks is going to release a monthly series and guess what! It will be a Santa's Village! Mellissa wants to start a SAL and I think I'll be participating! Information from the CCN website: The "Santa's Village" series is a 12 part series, with one pattern being released each month starting in November. All of the designs have a suggested fabric of 32 count Lambswool Linen, and all measure the same size with a stitch count of 72w by 88h. This makes them about 4 1/2" by 5 1/2" on the 32 count fabric. Each of the designs are perfect to stitch alone, but they are really special when stitched together. If you decide to stitch the entire village in the way that I am showing it, it will have a stitch count of 288w x 268h, which makes it about 18" x 16 3/4", so you will need a 24" square piece of 32 count fabric. Hi all, As you might have guessed, I was away with my little family to one of the Center Parcs during this Autumn's vacation. Monday it's back to everyday life, but we're still enjoying our weekend. I've finished my sixth Prairie Schooler santa ornament and will give a try at finishing them today although I'm still indicided on HOW I'll finish them :-) I'm not really experienced at machine stitching so we'll see ... I also started stitching on that cute Halloween cat ornament. On browsing my favourite shopping site , I've seen that Renato Parolin has released two trees which will be cool companion pieces to his Halloween tree (something I've been long time waiting for ... guess he heard my wish ;-) LOL!!!
