Happy New Year!

Image
Hi all, I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year full of family, friends, laughter and of course ... stitching time (and everything else you might wish for)!!! Yesterday evening I finished my seventh ornament of the year ... I can tell you that it wasn't easy (cursed a couple of times :-) because I wanted a special trim in between. In the end I managed it ... but I'm not sure if I'm going to do this a lot! The backing is in a cute santa with reindeer print and I did the "stuffing" with flax seed. See you in 2013!!!

Happy Christmas time!

Hi all, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas with your family and friends, sharing good company, food and laughter! I have been quiet but busy ... celebrating my birthday on the 23rd, eating out at my parent's house on the 24th and having a couple of free days between Christmas and New Year (my kids are staying with the grandparents of my hubbies side ;-). I've managed to stitch another ornament of which I already spoke of in one of my previous e-mails. It still needs to be finished but I like it a lot! I also added a couple of ornaments on my ever growing tree ... I don't think I'll blog a lot the next couple of days so I would like to wish you all a happy New Year! Have fun, enjoy each other's company and stay safe!

Fun stitches (LHN and CCN)

I'm so into "wintry designs" for the moment! As you might have noticed I love quite some designs from Little House Needleworks and Country Cottage Needleworks. LHN's new releases: CCN's second house of the Santa Village was on her blog today ... I can't wait for my materials to arrive! 1st and second house Another lovely winter design Have a nice weekend!

Let it snow!

Or rather not! The one day we had snow over here our traffic didn't move a lot :-) I've added some more ornaments (10 to be exact) on my Christmas tree and I'm moving up :-). With and without flash (to show you the colours better) As already said in my previous mails, I've added some Christmas decorations in my house. Althought it's a good start I think I can add lots and lots of ornaments in the future :-). Have to add the "balls" ;-)   A large vase   Take this ... and this ... It's snowing! ;-) Have a lovely week!

A touch of Spring!

Image
As you know I'm embroidering the Christmas Tree from UB Stickdesign better known as "Weihnachten steht vor der Tür". Well, on googling yesterday to see if there are other people embroidering this design I stumbled upon the new releases from UB ... ... ... shouldn't have done this! Look what Ulrike released: A sibling piece for spring! Elements from the new tree!   Elements from the tree I'm embroidering    I have already way toooo many pieces but I'm sure I won't be able to resist the first chart!

Sinterklaas versus Santa Clause

Image
Well, it's the time of the year and last weekend I've put our living and dining room in a festive mood and decorated the Christmas Tree. Normally we wait untill after the 6th of December when "Sinterklaas" arrives but my husband insisted (he's on holiday this week and wanted to have all the small lights and decorations :-) So what's the difference between Sinterklaas and Santa Clause? Santa Claus Sinterklaas Transportation : Reindeer-drawn sleigh that can fly Steamer called Pakjesboot 12 and a Gray horse called Amerigo that can walk over rooftops and make great leaps through the air Helpers: Elves Zwarte Pieten Gifts: Made in Santa's toy factory with the help of elves Bought in stores, wrapped by Zwarte Pieten, the helpers Personality: Punctual Almost senile Punishment: Lenient; leaves only coal to children who have been naughty Strict ; Sinterklaas sogs suggest that children who have been naughty are beaten with small branches or taken to ...
