Châtelaine challenge

Image
As you may - or might not - know, I'm a real fan of the designs of Martina Rosenberg (formerly Weber) because she creates such beautifull pieces. I wouldn't call 2013 a good year for my "Chatelaine adventures", so that's why I've decided to participate in a SAL created by Joyce . I have many pieces to chose from ranging from just started to half finished (unfortunatelly not more than that :-) and decided to give my long neglected Misty Morning Vineyard some loving attention. Here's a picture from how it should look like once finished : Stitching on the peacocks for the moment the middle is almost finished except for the beading and the flowers Everything will be hosted by Joyce at the Chatelaine Stitchers' blog  as we all progress in our SAL :-). That's it for now!

This and that

Hi all, Three weeks since my last post! Shame on me!!! It's not that I didn't want to post or that I didn't have inspiration but I have had soooo many things on my plate the last couple of weeks that I simply didn't find the time nor energy. We celebrated the anniversary of my eldest DD (8 years now) with two parties - one for us adults and one for DD's girlfriends :-). On Monday I'm following a sewing course (remember the image of tissues a couple of posts ago) and on Thursday it's knitting time! This doesn't mean that I haven't been busy on the crafting front. Soo ... what am I up to? Lots and lots of things! Sewing: still working on my skirt (hey it's only a couple of hours each week) Knitting: working on the second part of this vest which is called "Medieval). I just love those cables on the front!   I also love this sweater and think that I'll get some materials to make it - in another colour. Imagine a deep red bo...

Making plans

First of all I would like to thank you all for your warm and comforting words of consolation and support on the passing-by of our four-legged friend. These have been much appreciated! On a merrier note I can tell you that I've been busy making plans for this year - executing them is another thing! So what did I get for my birthday money last year (funny to say it like that) ... A couple of books ... I just love those German designers!!! (there are a couple of really lovely Christmas designs in them - and not only for hanging on your wall)   To help improve my "growing" (ahem) sewing skills :-) Bonheur des Dames - Flowerpots (140 cm x 140 cm) I also have their "Décembre en fleurs" tablecloth (white flowers)   Bonheur des Dames - Janvier & Février (existing series but my start of collecting them) Plum Street Samplers - Cinnamon Stars    Plum Street Samplers - Harvest Delivery (these are the first charts that I'...

R.I.P.

Yesterday was a sad day for our little family ... We had to say goodbye to our dear four-legged friend Rocky (a Cocker Spaniel) who was our companion for 13 1/2 years. His heart was strong but began to give in ... Rest in peace dear friend. You will be missed!

Happy 2014 and an update on ornament stitching

Hello everyone on the threshold of an old finishing year and the start of a new year full of possibilities ... I would like to warmly thank each and everyone that left a comment for my birthday last week. Although I didn't find the time to respond to everyone, they were highly appreciated! In the meanwhile I've finished two other houses of the Christmas Village and I'm still waiting for the last three months \ charts to be delivered on my doorstep. Wishing you all a lovely, happy, prosperous and creative 2014. P.S.: I'll post a stash busting report soon (the things I've bought with my birthday money :-) !

Happy Birthday to me!

Today is my 39th birthday! I never figured out whether mom did this on purpose or not ... just before Christmas (my birthday is never celebrated big time)! :-) I've received some money and a book coupon so I guess I'll do some stash enhancing ... cross stich, quilting or knitting ... what will it be? I'll keep you posted!

Progress report

It's December and for the moment it seems like I'm turning in rounds like a cat following it's tail. I'm into stitching Christmas designs and yet I know they won't be finished before the ending of the year. With each season - Spring/Easter, Summer and Halloween - this is a repeating thing! Let's take the Santa's Village ... I'm still waiting for parts 10 to 12 to arrive and I will be finishing part 8 shortly. Am I happy with it? No, but I'll have to live with that! Enough venting! To stay a little bit in the Christmas stitching spirit I've found some great Gingerbread cottages offered on this really nice - German - site where you can also find quite some other freebies as well. I like them all but favourites are the middle two in the top row and the left and middle house on the last row. In order to obtain the chart, you'll have to send a mail to the owner or leave a comment . Stickeule Weihnachts-Knusperhäuschen I also plan ...
