Still alive and stitching

I'm still alive and kicking/stitching on part 4 of the Serengeti Mandala. The only thing I need to do now is fill in the hippo and do all that tedious backstitching of the waterlillies.

I don't think I'll be able to download the parts due on July 1st and August 1st because of the holiday season approaching (and I won't be always around or on my computer).

I'm not planning on abandoning Serengeti, but once part 4 is finished, I think I'll be starting on a series that I have since 4 or 5 years. First brought out via the French magazine "Marie Claire Idées".




I've always wanted to stitch them, have the complete year in my drawers, but never seemed to come around to actually stitch them.

It's not only cross stitch but also half crosses/needlepoint (?) over one ... Really looking forward to doing this!

Ann, what a beautiful series. I especially like the colors in June and September. So pretty.

Those french samplers are adorable! The french have some neat ideas when it comes to cross stitch designs.

This time we travel to the south of Europe ... Italy being our destination ;-) RENATO PAROLIN I can't remember how I got to know the designs of Renato Parolin (who doesn't have a website nor a blog)... Happy Birthday to me!

Today is my 39th birthday! I never figured out whether mom did this on purpose or not ... just before Christmas (my birthday is never celebrated big time)! :-) I've received some money and a book coupon so I guess I'll do some stash enhancing ... cross stich, quilting or knitting ... what will it be? First ornament of 2013!

I've finished it yesterday so I guess I'm still good for the 2013 Ornament SAL :-). I'm not completely sure if it's only the stitching that needs to be finished or the entire ornament ... I'll have to check that! So without further delay, here it is: Spring in my Garden Barbara Ana Designs   It was a real joy to stitch but the only thing I didn't like doing were the bees ... very small and fidly :-)   I've also changed the colour of the rabbit, chicken and the bees wings from DMC Desert Sand (colour variation) to 738 (rabbit and chicken) and white (bees wings) ... otherwise they wouldn't show well on the fabric.    In the meantime I've already started the Barbara Ana "Owl-o-ween" design :-)
