Stitchy Fingers

As you might know by now I'm in a small stitching dip ... actually a crafting dip in general. Nothing really came out of my hands the last couple of weeks. I've started a couple of things but need to work on them. I had my eyes on the Love Entwined by Ester Aliu since it's first release and wanted to give it a try. I was quite pleased with the compass except for one fabric soooo ... last Saturday I discovered a new quiltshop = De Potterije in Lokeren. It's a shop that sells plants, cut flowers, pottery and has a well stocked quilt shop on the first floor (1400 fabrics)! Probably it doesn't even approach American quilt shops but I was quite pleased with the discovery! Something that caught my eye on entering Lokeren .. Metal bunnies! When I arrived at "De Potterije" a quilt course was given so there was lots of laughter and chatter ... 8 ladies put together ... :-)! And I didn't come out empty handed! Found some lovely pinks/purples for...

Time for an update on my stitched ornaments for the Silver Lotus' SAL. Sorry for the repetition but it's again two houses by Country Cottage Needleworks. I did stitch them in August but kept them for now. Enjoy! Santa's Post Office and the Reindeer Stables

On Saturday I went to a creative fair in Malines (the "Hobbysalon").   General view     One of my favourites ... Liebevolle Kreuzstichentwürfe Knowing yours truly you could expect that I would buy a couple of things ... first of all I bought a couple of Delica beads bags because I didn't have enough of a certain golden colour (there were colour changes in the batches between the two years that I bought the first golden batch and this one). Second a new and lovely Dimensions kit featuring a lavender field.   I've also bought a small booklet to make a felt "Sinterklaas" boat for December 6th. Not sure if this will be for this year or the next one though but I fell in love with it last year when I saw it on another blog. Here are some pictures of it in the booth. Everything is imagined and made by the ladies of the  Atelier Vrolijke Viltvriendjes .        And most important a number of fabric...

Hi all, September 1st it's back to school after two months of holidays for the kids. I can honestly say that it's good to be back in our normal routines ... even the kids were happy to go back and see their friends :-)! Stitching has been less the last couple of weeks due to different things = Pinterest and a lack of stitching mojo. Now that everyting has calmed down I'm considering taking up some of my WIP's. First of all "Scream House" by Just Nan (I just love this piece and don't know why I didn't continue with it) and second "Sleepy Hollow" by The Cricket Collection (a big part has already been done but I stopped when I was out of two overdyed skeins).   On the Just Nan front there's a new piece that I like a lot ... a type of pincushion in Halloween style. Hi all, As already said I was expecting a new baby ... in the mechanical sense that is! ;-) LOL!!! I already spotted her when I was at the Belgian coast for a really interesting price .... but because we were with our bikes I didn't take her with me. Afterwards it kept nagging and I found another "her" on a Dutch site. After bidding (and winning) I became the happy owner of a lovely new-old girl ;-) Let's have a look: Still curious? Let's have another peak ...those who are familiar with this item will already know what's in it after viewing the next picture ... Let's open the lid:   Take a look down ...   Ladies (and gents) may I present you my new precious jewel ... A Singer Featherweight from 1951 (previously owned by an American/Indonesian lady that lived in the Netherlands for a big part of her life)! Ah ... I think I'll enjoy working with this nifty little thing ... Now to figure out the "how to...

It's time for posting my new ornaments that I've made when I was at the Belgian coast in August ... again they're from the Christmas Village houses by Country Cottage Needleworks. Currently I'm working on the 7th house (didn't stitch anything other than these from July on :-).   Here's all the "published" houses untill now. As previously said, my plan is to finish them into a banner hanging - only need to buy some Christmas themed fabrics :-). Have a nice weekend!
