First real snow of 2013 and update on Christmas Tree

Hi all,

Today we all woke up with a white blanket of 12 cm covering everything outside.

It's beautifull to see when you can stay inside the whole day but much less funny when you have to dig out your car to drive to work (like I had to do this morning) :-(

Because of all this snow I want to stitch some more on my Christmas tree and finally finish it! Here's my latest update:


Ah yes before I forget ... my children wanted to spice up my Christmas decorations (the ones I didn't take down yet):

Amazing what you can do with pasta and empty Nespresso cups! :-)

Tomorrow I'll show you a new - small - start.

It's the first time I see the Belgian coast under snow: such beautiful pictures. Here too, the snow is keeping us company and hopefully I have the alternative of taking the train to work.
You Christmas tree is just splendide: you're ready for the end of the year ! ;-)

It's snowing here too - though not that much, and it's all mucky and horrible on the streets. Lovely pictures. And you're doing great on the tree.

Favourite designers - Renato Parolin and Rovaris

This time we travel to the south of Europe ... Italy being our destination ;-) RENATO PAROLIN I can't remember how I got to know the designs of Renato Parolin (who doesn't have a website nor a blog)... I suppose I've seen some of his designs on fellow stitchers' blogs. His - yes ladies a MALE designer - theme is nature with lots of trees, deer, doves, squirrels, owls, flowers and hearts. First ornament of 2013!

I've finished it yesterday so I guess I'm still good for the 2013 Ornament SAL :-). I'm not completely sure if it's only the stitching that needs to be finished or the entire ornament ... I'll have to check that! So without further delay, here it is: Spring in my Garden Barbara Ana Designs   It was a real joy to stitch but the only thing I didn't like doing were the bees ... very small and fidly :-)   I've also changed the colour of the rabbit, chicken and the bees wings from DMC Desert Sand (colour variation) to 738 (rabbit and chicken) and white (bees wings) ... otherwise they wouldn't show well on the fabric.    In the meantime I've already started the Barbara Ana "Owl-o-ween" design :-)

Long time no see

Well it has been an awfully long time since I last posted here but I switched to Instagram (annsombel) a couple of years back (December 2016 to be exact) as I encountered some problems with posting on Blogspot and I didn't always know what to say. I kept following all of you who also have Instagram profiles but I admit that I'm missing the rest of you so ... I'll be posting here sometimes (let's say once a month or maybe a bit less) to keep you updated :-).
