New stash

One of the temptations of having an LNS smack in the middle of the town where you're staying for your holiday is that you need to "visit them" at least one or two times (and that you don't leave without purchasing something :-).

My husband knows this and always makes remarks like "don't you have enough stash to last for three lifetimes?" ... Silly hubby! Doesn't he know that stitching is an addiction of which you need to get a regular fix/shot? LOL!!!

I'm starting to have a Mango Pratique books addiction and added two more to my growing pile, namely "Noël magique" (Magical Christmas) and "Mer et littoral" (Sea and Coastside). I'll show you the contents somewhere this week :-).


I also purchased crochet hooks size 5 and 6 for the wool that I've shown in one of my previous messages (I now have 7 "pelottes" in total) and 4 different colours of sewing thread for my new hobby = quilting (that is small ones and not big quilts :-)

In the meantime I also received a couple of charts:
- Prairie Schooler : all santas from 1984 to 2009 (purchased at a really interesting price on Ebay)

- Prairie Schooler - Bunnies (nr. 178) : at last ... now that Easter is over I've received it :-)

- Ink Circles - Rosetta : I'm not sure if I'm going to stitch it entirely on one piece of fabric. Thinking of round pincushions, box tops, ...

- Amitiés Croisés: book by Isabelle Vautier and Renato Parolin (I immediately ordered it in a shop in Holland because I think it's out of stock - and these two are amongst my favourite designers. Here's a picture of the cover. I'll show you a couple of piccies of what's in it one of the coming days.

Silly man! Mine says the same thing whenever I show him stuff online (have never been to a LNS yet). Wait til I get to a real LNS someday and he won't be able to stop me!!! Lots of great stash!! Love Rosetta and the Renato Parolin book too!!

Prachtige nieuwe aankopen, en dat laatste boek lijkt me helemaal geweldig, ik heb al wat van hun en die is ook helemaal goed.

Mijn Hubby sleept mij ook altijd mee zijn favoriete winkels in(hardloopkleding en zo)
Dus hij zegt maar niet teveel als ik een hobbywinkel in wil op vakantie.

dat laatste boek heb ik ook, hardstikke leuk boek.
mijn man was blij toen ik zei dat quilten over was, tot dat hij alle borduurspullen binnen zag komen.
toen zei ik, ik heb nu even genoeg van borduren, en hij glimlachte voorzichtig.
helaas de bollen wol (en de kool-aid) stromen binnen.ja ja,die mannen toch he? hahahaha

Favourite designers - Renato Parolin and Rovaris

This time we travel to the south of Europe ... Italy being our destination ;-) RENATO PAROLIN I can't remember how I got to know the designs of Renato Parolin (who doesn't have a website nor a blog)... First ornament of 2013!

I've finished it yesterday so I guess I'm still good for the 2013 Ornament SAL :-). I'm not completely sure if it's only the stitching that needs to be finished or the entire ornament ... I'll have to check that! So without further delay, here it is: Spring in my Garden Barbara Ana Designs   It was a real joy to stitch but the only thing I didn't like doing were the bees ... very small and fidly :-)   I've also changed the colour of the rabbit, chicken and the bees wings from DMC Desert Sand (colour variation) to 738 (rabbit and chicken) and white (bees wings) ... otherwise they wouldn't show well on the fabric.    In the meantime I've already started the Barbara Ana "Owl-o-ween" design :-)

Long time no see

Well it has been an awfully long time since I last posted here but I switched to Instagram (annsombel) a couple of years back (December 2016 to be exact) as I encountered some problems with posting on Blogspot and I didn't always know what to say. I kept following all of you who also have Instagram profiles but I admit that I'm missing the rest of you so ... I'll be posting here sometimes (let's say once a month or maybe a bit less) to keep you updated :-).
